    During high season, the Rainbow Mountain receives more than 1,500 visitors a day, making it one of the most popular destinations in Cusco. However, Vinicunca Mountain is not the only tourist attraction in this national park.
    Currently, the Red Valley is the favorite spot for visitors to Vinicunca Mountain. Its brilliant colors will leave you in awe, and you'll probably never see anything like it again.

    It's close to the famous Rainbow Mountain. But here's the best part: you can reach the Red Valley via a special path that will take you directly to this vibrant place. Join us on this adventure and discover one of the most spectacular places in the world. You'll see the amazing colors formed over millions of years, creating the red landscape you'll see. You'll even be able to touch and feel this incredible land, making it an experience you'll never forget.

    The Red Valley is located just behind the Rainbow Mountain, in the Cusco region, Sicuani province, Pitumarca district, and Osefina community.

    These colorful mountains in Peru are something you've never seen before. The Red Valley has an incredible red color due to the iron-rich soil that covers most of the area. In this natural wonder, you can appreciate brilliant red and green hues year-round.

    Rainbow Mountain + Red Valley Tour 01 Day



    Our staff will pick you up at 4:00 am at your respective hotel. We will board our private transportation and then head to the town of Cusipata-Paucarpata. During the trip, we will pass through different towns and enjoy the incredible views of the Peruvian Andes. The trip is approximately 2 hours long.
    Upon arrival, we will stop to enjoy a delicious breakfast and stock up on some necessary items to begin the tour. After this short stop, we will continue our trip for approximately 40 minutes, where we will observe the landscapes, the mysterious mountains, and the deep valleys.
    We will arrive at the village of Phullawasipata at 3,700 meters above sea level. From here, we begin the uphill hike for 1 hour and 30 minutes until we reach the Rainbow Mountains. Upon reaching the top of the mountain at 5,100 meters above sea level, you will be able to enjoy stunning views of the Andes and the Andean wildlife.
    All the mountains surrounding this area are red, and there are stunning views of the valleys and the mysterious Rainbow Mountain. We will have enough time to take photos and videos. Then, we will begin our descent, this time taking a detour to the Red Valley. The name comes from the special pigmentation of the earth, which has an intense reddish color due to the abundant amount of minerals. This path will be even more special because we may be one of the only groups on this route. The walk will take between 1 hour and 1:30 minutes until we reach Phullawasipata, where our transportation will be waiting to take us to enjoy a well-deserved and delicious lunch.
    After lunch, you can visit some of the local family homes, where you can see the lifestyle of these people who still practice the ancient Inca traditions.
    Afterwards, we will return to Cusco. We will arrive in the city at approximately 5:00 PM and then drop you off at your respective hotels, thus concluding the tour to Rainbow Mountain.
